Sports Information: Ten Pin Bowling

Ten pin bowling is a derivative of the ancient game of skittles. It's a competitive game in which players roll a bowling ball at a set of ten pins at the opposite end of the alley.

Ten pin bowling developed at the beginning of the twentieth century in the USA, where a number of private bowling alleys were set up. The sport eventually spread to Canada, the UK and Australasia.

Today, ten pin bowling has a strong club, national and international competition framework with world championships organised annually since 1954 by the World Ten Pin Bowling Association. Currently there are no formal betting markets for ten pin bowling.
