Breeders' Cup Saturday Preview Part 2

Race: Breeders’ Cup Juvenile
Time: 5.43 (ET)
Distance: 1 mile and a sixteenth
Morning Line Favorite: 10, Not This Time 7/2
A race full of potential superstars, not least Not This Time, who won his last race (at Churchill Downs) by nine lengths. Klimmt ran a rare bad race last time out but trainer Bob Baffert knows how to win in the Breeders’ Cup and will no doubt have him cherry ripe for this race.
Race: Breeders’ Cup Turf
Time: 6.22 (ET)
Distance: 1 mile and a half
Morning Line Favorite: 4, Flintshire 5/2
This race normally revolves around the European raiders and Aiden O’Brien’s Found returns to defend her crown in this race. She has a fine chance today but she has had a hard season and the ground is firmer than she would like, Flintshire flopped last time out on soft going but will love today’s ground conditions.
Race: Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (Dirt)
Time: 7.01 (ET)
Distance: 7 Furlongs
Morning Line Favorite: 2, Haveyougoneaway at 3/1
This looks an open race and Irish Jasper is a token selection at a big price. She is hitting form at just the right time.
Race: Breeders’ Cup Mile (Turf)
Time: 7.40 (ET)
Distance: 1 Mile
Morning Line Favorite: 8, Tepin at 3/1
Tepin had looked very impressive earlier in the season, including an easy win at Royal Ascot but maybe has not been quite so impressive of late. Limato is interesting and will love the ground but I do feel he would have been better suited by the distance of the turf sprint.
Race: Breeders’ Cup Classic
Time: 8.35 (ET)
Distance: 1 Mile and a quarter
Morning Line Favorite: 4, California Chrome at evens
A fantastic finale to this year’s Breeders’ Cup sees a showdown between California Chrome and Arrogate. California Chrome has been awesome this season, taking the Dubai World Cup (despite a slipped saddle) along with easy victories in the Pacific Classic and Awesome Again. Arrogate had looked useful but not super special until taking the Travers Stakes by an immense 13 ½ lengths. If he can reproduce or improve on that, this could be one amazing race.
