Tennis Update

This week’s ATP action at Cincinnati is now down to the quarter-final stage and at the time of writing Bernard Tomic, who is unseeded this week, was through to the last eight and will face top-seed Andy Murray. Dominic Thiem made the last eight courtesy of a walk over after one of my selections this week ninth seed Gael Monfils withdrew due to injury.
Thiem will now face fourth seed Raonic, while Coric, who is unseeded this week, recorded the upset of the week so far knocking out Nadal in straight sets and he will face 12th seed Cilic, who beat Berdych in three sets. Finally my one remaining selection this week Johnson (80/1) is through to the last eight after knocking out seventh seed Tsonga yesterday.
Johnson will face the unseeded Dimitrov, who knocked out second seed Wawrinka yesterday and this is sure to be a highly entertaining encounter judging by their three previous head-to-heads. They were all close and Johnson could be the one to emerge victorious again having won the last two, including a 3 sets win at Washington on hard courts last year.
